Built and tested in our shop

Panels and retrofit buckets for electrical jobs are built and tested in Bedford’s own panel shop, under Bedford’s QPS certification. Nothing leaves the bench untested: points are checked against the drawings and terminals are labelled to match the field devices. That is why field wiring lands to the panel drawings on site, and why I/O checkout is verification instead of discovery. The QPS certification covers the panel work, and it matters here because our feeders, motor circuits and safety wiring end up terminated inside those panels.

Common questions

Do you do industrial electrical work in Nova Scotia and PEI, or only New Brunswick?Bedford works across all three Maritime provinces from one shop NB, including Halifax, Truro, Amherst, Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John and Charlottetown. Red Seal certification is interprovincial, so the same electricians can work a Moncton plant and a Charlottetown plant under one scope, and permits go through each province’s own inspection authority.
Can one contractor do the wiring and the controls, or do I need two?One team can do both, and Bedford is set up that way. The same company designs the controls, builds the panel, wires the plant and writes the PLC code, so field wiring matches the panel drawings and I/O checkout does not stall while two contractors argue over whose point is wrong.
What voltages and what kind of electrical work do you take on?Plant distribution from 208V through 600V: feeders, transformers, splitters, motor control centres, and service and panel upgrades. Machine side work covers motor branch circuits, disconnects, drive installation and cabling, control and instrumentation wiring, safety circuits, and industrial network drops. Residential and light commercial wiring is not what we do.
Can electrical work be done during a shutdown so we do not lose production?Yes, and planning is what keeps the window short. Panels and retrofit buckets are built, wired and point checked in Dieppe before the shutdown starts, so site time goes to mechanical fit, terminations and commissioning instead of assembly. Phased work also lets part of a line keep running while the rest is cut over.
Who do I call when a line goes down and it looks electrical?Call 1-833-423-3367. Someone available answers and we get moving. Emergency work is stabilization first: make it safe, get production running, then plan the permanent repair. If parts availability will delay the permanent fix, we say so once we have seen the failure, not after the invoice.
