Job Description:
We are seeking skilled and motivated Industrial electricians / Programmers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in both electrical systems and programming, with a focus on industrial applications. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems in industrial settings, as well as programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human machine interfaces (HMIs).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and maintain electrical systems in industrial environments.
- Develop and implement PLC and HMI programs to control and monitor industrial processes.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems that contain variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starts, relays/contactors and more.
- Troubleshoot low-voltage control systems that contain digital and analog signals.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate electrical components and/or programming into larger systems.
- Ensure compliance with CEC, industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Ether CAT and more.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Must be willing to work in different locations across Atlantic Canada which will include some overnights.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in industrial or commercial electrical with a minimum of 5 years experience in a industrial manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience in industrial electrical installations and maintenance.
- Electrical design considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge in various PLC programming languages (ladder logic, function block and structured text).
- Familiarity with HMI development and configuration.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
